Harold Thomas Wickham fought at one sole battle and that was the battle of Beersheba. It was a battle between the Allies and the central powers. The allies were trying to take control of the land in which they did as has gone down as one of the best cavalry charges ever. The armies that fought at this location was New Zealand, Great Britain and Australia and they were fighting against the Germans and the Ottoman Empire. The allied powers launched an attack on the town of Beersheba killing 32 australians and wounding 36. There were around 500 turks that lost their lives around Palestine as well so a big success towards the allies. 60,000 Australians fought in the battle of beersheba, so desperate for the wells of water in Beersheba. Even though it was huge numbers only 32 of the 60,000 australians died and 36 wounded which shows the success of the Australians. The 12th and 4th regiments were the main people fighting in the battle of Beersheba, with British XXX corps firing from long range. Other battles fought at this location was the whole Sinai and Palestine Campaign that went from the 28th of January 1915 - 31 October 1918, this included multiple battles in this period which included the battle of beersheba. Some of these battles were the three battles of Gaza, Battle of Jerusalem and Battle of Megiddo. In total the battle of beersheba included around 1,100 deaths from all countries.
